Obituary of John Mascelli

Gianni "John" Mascelli passed away March 12th, 2015 after losing his battle with cancer. He was born August 29, 1930 in Gubbio, Italy. He was the son of Alfredo and Iris Mascelli. He was the oldest of three children. John came to the United States in 1949, living in Connecticut, NY and Florida at various times. He was a long time employee of Weber Knapp and retired with the company. He loved being outdoors. Fishing, hunting, gardening and hiking were some of his favorite activities. He also enjoyed making homemade wine, a skill passed down from his father. He was very involved and active as a Jehovah's Witness. He was an elder in the congregation and had a deep love and passion for teaching others about the bible. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 60 years Alexandra "Alice" Mascelli. He is survived by a brother, Lamberto Mascelli and a sister, Flora Mascelli as well as the rest of his extended family in Italy. He also leaves behind five children. Katerina Gardner (Patrick), Alfredo Mascelli, Esther Friedman (David), Tina Lind-Kellom (John), John Mascelli (Chanci) as well as 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and his 2nd wife Ruby Mascelli. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 4th at 2pm at the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses on 180 Martin Road in Jamestown NY for those who wish to attend.
