Obituary of Larry W. Taft

Larry W. Taft, 59, of 406 Hebner Street, died Friday April 3, 2015, in WCA Hospital. A Jamestown native, he was born March 12, 1956, a son of Philip and Donna Peterson Taft. He was a 1974 graduate of Jamestown High School. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Jamestown Public Schools District. He was a member of Eagles Lodge, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and the Vikings where he was a past chief. He enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycle riding, traveling and boating. Surviving besides his parents of Jamestown is his wife Deborah Winburg Taft, whom he married March 26, 1977; two sisters Nancy (Bill) Curry and Susan (Mike McKenzie) Taft both of Jamestown, his mother-in-law Margaret Olson of The Villages, FL; brother-in-law Roger (Sandy) Winburg of Beavercreek, OH and sister-in-law Kathy Classon of Jamestown. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Friends will be received from 1-3 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home where a Viking Lodge Memorial Service will be led at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
