Obituary of Roland A. Gullberg

Roland A. Gullberg, 84 of 743 Falconer Street, formerly of 417 Superior Street, passed away Friday May 8, 2015 in WCA Hospital. He was born July 24, 1930 in Jamestown the son of the late Arthur and Elna Borell Gullberg. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1948 and enlisted in the Army. He served in the Finance Department in the Phillipines and Korea until 1951. He then attended Jamestown Business College for two years and worked in the Division Sales Office of the Erie Lackawana Railroad. Roland began his service with the Jamestown Post Office in 1964, retiring in 1990. He then worked as a greeter at Sam's Club for 16 years. Roland was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, and Herman Kent Post #777 American Legion in Celoron. Surviving are three children, Jody (John) Maring of Lawrenceville, GA; Steven (Jessica) Gullberg of Eureka, MO; David (Kay) Gullberg of Springfield, TN; six grandchildren, Alexa Maring, Michael Maring, and Mariah Maring all of Lawrenceville, GA; Gregory Gullberg of South Bend, IN; Kyra Gullberg and Cooper Gullberg both of Springfield, TN; a sister, Doris Bartlett of Richmond Heights, OH; his loving companion Nancy Nold and her children, Jon (April) Nold of Camillus, NY; and Cindy (Andrew) Duca of Phoenix, AZ. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley who died November 1998; a grandson, Steven who was killed in a plane crash in December 2013; and Nancy's son, Charles "Chuck" "Mick" Nold who died December 2012. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.
