Obituary of Marilyn N. Moreen-Tane

Marilyn N. Moreen-Tane, 81, of 108 Waldemere Way, Lakewood, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015 at UPMC Hamot in Erie. A Jamestown native, she was born January 2, 1934, the daughter of the late Clarence A. and Ethelyn Cedarquist Nelson. Marilyn was a graduate of both Jamestown High School and Syracuse University. In earlier years she had been employed as an interior decorator and designer by the former Bigelow's Department Store. She then served as a golf instructor for 18 years at the Cold Springs Driving Range in Fluvanna. A member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Marilyn also belonged to the Jamestown Chapter of the DAR and the Mozart Club. Her family will always remember her caring, loving heart and her favorite sayings to them: "I love you to pieces" and "My arms are around you". Surviving is her husband, Komo L. Tane, whom she married June 1, 1998; a daughter, Melinda M. Nunn of San Antonio, TX and a son, Steven N. Moreen of Jamestown; and two step-daughters, Kimberly (Mark) Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA and Linda Rinaldo of Jamestown. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Jarrett C. Nunn, James M. Nunn and Chantell J. Moreen; two great-grandchildren: Matthew C. Nunn and Nehemiah J. Nunn; and four step-grandsons: Erik Eckstrand, Drew Rinaldo, Brett Rinaldo and Troy Rinaldo. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl C. Moreen. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Robert J. Kasting will officiate. Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home, where a Jamestown Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution Memorial Service will be held at 6:45 p.m. The family suggests memorials be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 825 Forest Ave., Jamestown, NY 14701; or to a charity of choice.
