Obituary of Emma J. Brown

Emma J. Brown, 78, formerly of 20 E. 5th St. in Jamestown, died at 11:50 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing. A Jamestown area resident since 1965, she was born August 11, 1936 in Removal, WV, the daughter of the late Walter and Vera Hall Williams. Emma had attended Lighthouse Baptist Church and was a member of the Heritage Green Red Hatters. She is survived by three daughters: Evelyn (Lewis) Bookbinder of Frewsburg, Rebecca Spittler of Webster Springs, WV, and Brenda Williams of Longview, TX; a son, Arthur "Butch" (Beverly) Brown of Guardian, WV; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great- great-grandchildren; and a brother, Sherwin (Kay) Williams of Calabash, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Freda Mae Brown; son, James Brown; grandson, David Spittler; and two brothers, Paul Williams and Harold Noble Williams. No funeral service or visitation will be observed. Inurnment will be in West Virginia. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to a charity of choice.
