Obituary of Leonard Campo

Leonard "Leo" Campo, 93, of Ocala, FL, formerly of Curtis St. Jamestown, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015, in the Legacy House, Ocala, FL. He was born January 30, 1922 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Dominic and Anna Bertolino Campo. Leo was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from October 22, 1942 to January 16, 1945 during World War II. Before retiring to Florida in 1997, he was a barber and hair stylist, owning and operating Campo's Hair Center on East Second St. for many years. While living in Jamestown he was a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, the Elks Lodge, John W. Tiffany Post 53 American Legion and the Veteran of Foreign Wars. He was an avid golfer belonging to the Conewango Country Club for several years. Surviving are a daughter, Sandra Lee (Gerald) White of Ocala, FL, a son, Thomas Leonard Campo of Atlantic Beach, FL, two grandchildren, Gregor (Stefanie) Bolotin of Oakdale, PA, Samantha (Joe) Campo King of Jacksonville, FL, two great granddaughters, Madelon Rose Bolotin and Emma Cecilia Bolotin of Oakdale, PA and his nephews, Richard, Robert and Steven LaMonica. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years the former Nancy J. Garifi Campo, whom he married September 23, 1944 and who died January 19, 2015, a brother Veto and a sister, Katy. Private services were held in Florida. Inurnment was in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
