Obituary of June V. Carlson

June V. Carlson, 93, formerly of 17 Durant Ave., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015 in the Lutheran Retirement Home. She was born Sept. 28, 1921 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Paul A. and Olive Peterson Carlson. June was a 1939 graduate of Jamestown High School and member of the 100 Member Club. She was employed by the former Dahlstrom Manufacturing Co. for 19 years and retired in 1990 after 31 years as secretary for First Lutheran Church. June was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church, singing in the choir for 50 years and belonging to the Deaconess Society, Kuples & Singles Klub, Senior Fellowship and the Ladies Aid. She was a member of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Lutheran Retirement Home Auxiliary, Gustavus Adolphus Home Auxiliary, AARP and had served as treasurer of the Lutheran House at Chautauqua Institution. June is survived by one sister-in-law, Dottie Carlson; two nieces, Stephanie Carlson of Minneapolis, MN and Priscilla Carlson of Portland, OR; two nephews, Jonathan Carlson of Minneapolis and Timothy Carlson of Wyoming, MN; as well as several cousins. She was preceded in death by her loving brother, Rev. Merle F. Carlson. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21st in First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Daniel K. Nagle will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the church on Monday.
