Obituary of Dawne E. Soderquist

Dawne E. Soderquist, 87, of Hultquist Place, formerly of Lakewood, passed away Wednesday evening, October 14, 2015. She was the wife of Rev. J. Kenneth Soderquist. Dawne was born March 4, 1928 in Jamestown and was the daughter of the late Harry P. and Florence Olson Stohl. She was a 1946 graduate of DuBois High School and 1949 graduate of the WCA Hospital School of Nursing. A registered nurse, she was employed by WCA Hospital for 15 years, retiring in 1989. Dawne was a member of First Lutheran Church. In addition to her husband, surviving is a daughter, Cheryl (Gordon) Veal of Jackson, MI; grandson, Daniel Pinter of New York City; three step-grandsons: Mitchell (Emily) Veal of Jackson, Richard Veal, U.S. Army stationed at Fort Jackson, Columbia, SC, and Alex (Erica) Veal of Colorado Springs, CO; and a great-grandson, Ethan Veal of Jackson. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Memorial Chapel of First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Daniel K. Nagle will officiate. Inurnment will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service, from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday in the church. The family suggests memorials be made to First Lutheran Church, 120 Chandler St., or Lutheran Social Services, 715 Falconer St., both Jamestown, NY 14701.
