Obituary of Debra Lee Lindahl

Debra Lee VanMarter Lindahl, 63 of Madison, AL passed away on November 27, 2015 at home. A strong beautiful lady is at peace after a courageous battle with cancer. Her oldest sister Kathy Martin held her hand through the end, and let's not forget her baby sister Valerie Varner who carried her through these last nine months. Debra never gave up. She fought very hard for 17 years and is now pain free. She was born October 8, 1952 in Jamestown the daughter of the late AlJ and Theda Vinsrig VanMarter. Debra loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved them to the moon and back, but she also loved her daughters more than that, Kelly Ann and Nicole Lee. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, sewing, baking for her grandchildren, and was famous for her stories she told at family gatherings. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Surviving are two daughters, Kelly Clendenen (Larry Linkous) of Celoron, NY; Nicole Hamilton (Mark Baker) of East Limestone, AL; grandsons, Andrew Hamilton, Christopher (Starr) Hamilton, Dale and Trevor Linkous, Nicolas Lindahl, Zac Baker; granddaughters, Alanna Linkous, Lainee Hamilton; great grandkids, Emma Linkous, Jayden Raynor; brothers, Grandin (Sue) VanMarter, Donald VanMarter; sisters, Kathy Martin, Lana (Ron) Lemke, Valerie Varner; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Cheryl Alm. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
