Obituary of Dorothy L. Crick

Dorothy L. Crick, 99, formerly of 31 Harlem Ave. Lakewood and Tanglewood Manor Jamestown, passed away Monday April 4, 2016 in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A Lakewood resident most of her life, she was born January 10, 1917 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Charles and Alice Crossley Rivers. She was a 1934 graduate of Jamestown High School. Dorothy was a member of St. Lukes Episcopal Church and their Wednesday women's group; the Lakewood Busti Golden Agers; and the Lakewood American Legion. She loved music and being with her many grandchildren. Surviving are a son, Robert A. (Connie) Crick of Lakewood; two daughters, Sally Ann (Fred) Haley of Jamestown; Dottie C. (James) Larson of Lakewood; 12 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; fifteen great great grandchildren; a 1st cousin, Betty Harrington of Buffalo; her loving nieces, Barbara Martin of Jamestown and Donna Nelson of Florida; and nephew Gerald (Beverly) White of Jamestown. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Arthur B. Crick whom she married June 19, 1937 and who died July 14, 1998; three great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; two sisters, Alice L. Smith; and an infant sister, Margaret Rivers. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Gerald A. Haglund will officiate. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lakewood Fire Department 37 J.W. Packard Blvd. Lakewood, NY 14750; or Hospice of Chautauqua County 20 W Fairmount Ave Lakewood, NY 14750.
