Obituary of David A. Hitchcock

David A. Hitchcock, 69, of 1700 28 Mile Creek Road, Falconer, died Tuesday May 10, 2016, in Veterans Administration Hospital, Buffalo. He was born August 29, 1946 in Jamestown, a son of the late Albert and Pauline Hallquist Hitchcock. He served in the US Army from 1968-69. He was employed by Weir Cove Trucking in West Virginia. Surviving are his wife the former Joyce Davis, whom he married December 12, 1991; a son Josh (Tammy)Hitchcock of Texas; five step children Kathy (Virgil) Kimmy of Wattsburg, PA, Harry Kitelinger of Texas, Tina Powell of New Roads, LA, Tim (Amanda) Gorby of Ohio and Travis (Diane) Gorby of South Carolina; two grandchildren Karissa Hitchcock and Matthew Hichcock; fourteen step grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; four brothers Albert (Kay) Hitchcock of Gerry, Paul (Connie) Hitchcock and Darwood (Char) Hitchcock, both of Sinclairville and Terry Hitchcock of Gerry; two sisters Ann (Bill) Vine of Bemus Point and Beth Chandler of Falconer and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Nathaniel McElwain; a brother Rex Hitchcock and a sister Coralyn Johnson. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Jason Claydon will officiate. Friends will be received from 4-6 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
