Obituary of Mabel I. Swiderski

Mabel I. Swiderski, 102, of Jamestown, passed away Tuesday September 20, 2016 in Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born July 28, 1914 in Walnut, IL 1 of 11 children to the late Samuel and Pearl Grace Hollis Upperman. For many years, Mabel was employed by Bailey's Bakery which became Sandee's Bakery. Mabel loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and jigsaw puzzles. Surviving are five daughters: Janet (Nick) Schepis, Sandy (Bruce) Mabee, Darlene Johnson, Peggy (Brian) Hill, and Debra (Mike) Haller all of Jamestown; 10 grandchildren: Randy (Deborah) Schepis, Mark (Pamela) Schepis, Gary (Lorri) Mabee, Kimberly (Kim) Sager, Tammy (Shawn) Ericson, Rhonda (Edward) Garcia, Daniel (Suzanne) Johnson, Michelle Hill (Jamie Smith), Christopher (Elizabeth) Haller, and Kerri (Gary) Dove; 15 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Swiderski who died July 8, 1965; a son, Richard Swiderski; and a son in law, Ralph Johnson. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Ronald A. Lemon will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday (two hours prior to the service) in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to a charity of choice.
