Obituary of Lois A. Christy

Lois A. Christy, 86, passed away Tuesday April 3, 2018 in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born January 25, 1932 in Geneva, NY the daughter of the late Frederick G. and Mary Moran Kibler. Lois was a bookkeeper for several businesses and individuals, including Laco Roofing, Jamestown Roofing, and Julin & Kibler Sheet Metal Co. She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish, Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she served as their bookkeeper, and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Lois was an avid gardener, enjoyed Little Theater, bookkeeping for friends and family, and she volunteered with the Community Foundation and the Red Cross Blood Drive. Surviving are a daughter, Karen M. Christy of Jamestown; a sister, Margaret D. Kibler of Jamestown; a brother, David L. Kibler of Hudson, NY; ,and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John S. Christy; two brothers, Frederick Kibler, John "Jack" Kibler; and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Kibler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in Holy Apostles Parish, St. John Catholic Church, 270 Newton Ave., Jamestown, NY, Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 5:45 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
