Obituary of Ineze E. Seastedt

Ineze Sophia Eckberg Seastedt, 83, of Jamestown, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2018, in her home. She had been engaged in a courageous battle with Alzheimer's for almost two years. A lifelong area resident, she was born January 2, 1935 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late William Anders Bertil Eckberg and Abigail Mabel Lewis Eckberg. Besides her parent she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Russell Seastedt whom she married September 9, 1955 and who died February 20, 2009 She was 1953 graduate of Jamestown High School and received her associate's degree from Averett University in Danville, Virginia. During her high school years she was an accomplished majorette. Before her retirement from the Falconer Central School System, she was a Senior Administrative Assistant to the Principal. Our mom was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who always supported her family in any and every way. She was most happy with a purring cat on her lap. Over her lifetime, many homeless cats found their way to her door knowing they would be welcomed, pampered and loved. Surviving are her four children, Timothy Seastedt of Denver, CO, Julianne Horton of Broomfield, CO, Wendy (James) Marlinski of Jamestown, Stephanie (John) Cullinane of Syracuse, UT, five grandchildren, Sara (Stan) Wells of Brighton, CO, Christina (Jason) Donovan of Rochester, NY, Peter (Bekha) Donovan of MI, Mathew Cullinane of Syracuse, UT, Andrew Laurita of Jamestown and two great grandchildren, Brohm and Eloise Donovan. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2018, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. John A. Jackson, associate pastor of Hurlbut Memorial United Methodist Church will officiate. Visitation will not be observed. A private inurnment will take place in Lake View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
