Obituary of James K. Warner

James K. Warner, 76, of 1565 Quaint Road, Falconer, passed away on Monday January 21, 2019, in the home of his daughter in Jamestown. He was born May 16, 1942, in Dewittville, NY, a son of the late Kenneth and Cyrena Hathaway Warner. He was a 1959 graduate of Falconer Central School. Prior to his retirement in 1999 he was employed by Jamestown Board of Public Utilities for over 30 years as a meter reader. He was a devoted member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church where he served as a deacon, elder, church treasurer and trustee. He wore many hats serving the Lord and his church in every aspect of the church's' operations and needs. He was also Vice President and General Manager of Advent Radio Ministries, Inc where he kept the radio station on 'round the clock for 15 years'. A car enthusiast, he was a member of Der Kobblers Car Club. He enjoyed attending car shows and events. He was a brilliant mathematician and loved crunching numbers. He enjoyed brainteasers such as Sudoku and crossword puzzles. A Buffalo Bills fan. He will be remembered as "Papa Jim", "Da-doo" and correcting others on the use of proper English. Surviving are seven children Lori (Joe) Marino of Cape Canaveral, FL, Mike (Judy) Warner of Deltona, FL, Dave (Robyn) Warner of Jamestown, Jeff (Janel) Warner of Paris, TN, Kevin (Patty) Warner of Jamestown, Janel (Jeff) Warner of Paris, TN and Jamie (Greg) Dimpfl of Jamestown; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and two brothers Tom (Loretta) Warner of Jamestown and Don Warner of Portland, NY. A memorial service will be held, Sunday from 2p-4pm Sunday in the Seventh Day Adventist Church,130 McDaniel Avenue, Jamestown. Friends will be received in Fellowship Hall of the church following the service. Memorials may be made to Seventh Day Adventist Church. You may leave words of condolence at www.lindfuneralhome.com.
