Obituary of Louis M. Williams

Louis M. "Louie" Williams, 73, formerly of Sugar Grove, PA, died Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing in Jamestown, NY. He was born July 4, 1945 in Jamestown, a son of the late Stanley M. and Ethel E. R. (Nelson) Williams. He grew up in Sugar Grove and was a 1964 graduate of Eisenhower High School in Lander, PA where he played football. For 25 years Louie was employed as a psychiatric aide at Warren State Hospital in Warren, PA. In his earlier years, he was a member of First Lutheran Church in Jamestown. He was a Buffalo Bills fan and also enjoyed watching crime shows and was an avid reader; he liked suspense novels and the authors James Patterson and Jim Carpenter. He loved animals and was very fond of his pet cat, Satina and pet parrot, Tojo. Surviving are his daughter, Laura J. Stewart and a granddaughter, Courtney Guest, both of Sugar Grove; a brother, Myrl J. (Peggy) Williams of Massillon, OH and sister, Cheryl L. (Robert) Harvey of Jamestown; an aunt, Eleanor (Lloyd) Nelson of Ocala, FL; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Louis Jay and Minnie (Kade) Nelson and paternal grandparents, Marshall and Florence (Hedlund) Williams; and a sister-in-law, Peggy (Myrl) Williams. A private service will be held at a later date. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in the Wesleyan Cemetery in Sugar Grove, PA. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, 120 Chandler St., Jamestown, or the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701.
