Obituary of Dorothy L. Richetti

Dorothy Lillian Richetti, age 91, of Jamestown, passed away at 10:25 am Saturday, July 27, 2019, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born September 19, 1927 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Donald and Margaret Gunnell Ellis.

In earlier years, she was a bookkeeper for her husband's business, The Rocket Gas Station in Falconer, NY.

Dorothy will be remembered as a dedicated and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid reader and passed along her love of reading to her family. For the past few years she devoted herself to the care of her husband "Lucky".

Surviving are her husband of 72 years, Luciano Richetti, whom she married December 18, 1946, her three children, Cindy (Ralph) Smith of Lakewood, NY, Duane (Beth) Richetti of Jamestown, Diane (Randy) Hockenberry of Lakewood. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Michael (Julie) Smith, Mark Smith, Jim (Cristin) Hockenberry, Amy (Adam) Glowniak, Ellen (Willie) Kennelley, Heather (Mike) Dietrich, and her great grandchildren, Ryan and Rob Smith, Kate and Lucy Hockenberry, Ryan and Grady Glowniak, Sophia, Lydia and Nadia Kennelley and Gavin Dietrich.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her only sister, Marguerite Stanton of Frewsburg, NY.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Douglas M. Knopp, pastor emeritus of Christ First United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.

Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday in the funeral home.

Dorothy's family would like to thank her caregivers, Suzy, Marge, Denise, Joan, Jan, Linda and Diane for the excellent care and concern they provided for Dorothy.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to a charity on one's choice.
