Obituary of Shirley D. Carlson

Shirley D. Carlson, 74, of 374 Hallock St., Jamestown, passed away Friday, August 2, 2019 in her home surrounded by her husband, children and their families. She was born October 2, 1944 in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Fred and Mildred Gollnick. Shirley loved playing cards and going to Bingo. She also liked going for walks, sitting on her porch, and spending time with family. Shirley attended Southwestern Central School and was employed by Chautauqua Opportunities for 25 years before her retirement. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Wayne V. Carlson; her children: Joanne (Todd) Bacon, Joan (Duane) Gibson, Janice (Joe) Kibbe, Marcy (Rod) Austin and step-daughter, Vicki (Brad) Grayson; as well as eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ginnie and Tina; three brothers, Dave, Paul and Ronnie; and two grandchildren, Briella and Caleb. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, August 8th in the Lind Funeral Home, followed by a Memorial Service at 5 p.m. Thursday, led by Shirley's nephew, Carl Davis.
