Obituary of Alma J. Reale

Alma J. Reale, 88, of Jamestown, passed away at 12: 15 pm Saturday, August 24, 2019, in UPMC Chautauqua. A lifelong area resident, she was born August 30, 1930 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Boyd and Clio A. Wyrick Griffey. Before her retirement, she was a beauty consultant for Eckerd Drug Store and had previously been the manager of Loeffler Beauty Supply Store when it opened in 1975. Alma became a convert to the catholic faith in 1949, just prior to her marriage to Joseph. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and her faith had a major impact on her during her long life. If you were to ask Alma her opinion she would always give you a straight forward and honest answer. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was always there for her family. Surviving are her daughter, Sandra A. Reale, with whom she made her home, five grandchildren; Vincent Brigiotta, Steven Brigiotta both of Jamestown, Kristen (William) Landt of Vero Beach, FL, Kimberly Reale of Wellsville, NY, Lauren R. Reale of Ruskin, FL, four great grandchildren; Vincent Joseph Brigiotta, Jr., Tyler Joseph Brigiotta, Abigail Elizabeth Landt, William Landt, and her sister; Dora Griffey Bockleman of Whittier, CA. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Joseph A. Reale whom she married August 20, 1949 and who died February 8, 2016, two sons; David A. Reale who died July 21, 2015, Joseph B. Reale who died July 11, 2016, a grandson, Michael J. Reale who died April 8, 2017 and a sister, Joan Griffey Hurst. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
