Obituary of Gloria L. Williams

Gloria La Jean Williams, 79, of 269 Hazeltine Ave. Jamestown, NY, passed away Thursday April 30th in her home, peacefully in her sleep. An area resident for most of her life, she was born October 27, 1940 in Marienville, PA a daughter of James and Mary Hoarm Eck. She was a fulltime wife and mother. She also volunteered for the Kiantone Fire Department Auxiliary for more than 40 years. Gloria will be remembered as a sweet and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who dedicated herself to anyone she loved. She loved crafting, crocheting, painting and generally making anything that would make people happy. She was also an avid bingo player, hitting the local bingo halls whenever she would get a chance. She will be missed terribly by all that had the fortune of being a part of her life. Surviving is the love of her life and husband of 58 years, John C. Williams, whom she married June 7, 1961; her sons: John T. (Doreen) Williams of Elgin, TX, and Gerry (Diane) Williams of Garland, PA; her daughters: Candie Winkels (Don Miles) of Youngsville, PA, and Pennie Williams (Lee Durstine) of Jamestown, NY; Nine grandchildren: Eric (Ali) Winkels, Shawna (Rodney) Thomas, Christine Cimilluca Franklin, Amy Granger, Ted Williams, Jesse Gray, Katie Gray, Breanna Williams, and Matthew Williams; a brother, Brian Claire Eck and a sister, Rose Cullip both of Colorado; two grand puppies, Pepe' Alejondro Aye Chihuahua and Tippy; and 12 great-grandchildren and one more on the way. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard, James, Charlie, and Daniel Eck; and sisters, Patricia L. Hartzell and Karen J. Sherbine; and a beloved son-in-law Ryan Winkels. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
