Obituary of Betty A. Stefanczak

Betty A. Stefanczak, 80, of Lakewood, NY, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020, in UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA. An area resident since 1982, she was born August 4, 1939 in Bradford, PA, a daughter of the late Samuel and Geraldine Hawes Stein. She was the widow of Ralph Stefanczak whom she married June 24, 1961 and who died October 31, 1988. Betty was a 1957 graduate of Bradford Area High School. Before her retirement, she had worked at WCA Hospital in patient accounts. She had later worked for the former Bon Ton Department Store in Lakewood, NY for many years. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother and sister who loved spending time with her family and friends. She was also a very generous person always cooking for someone and donating to needy causes, helping anyone in need. She was also a very avid football fan. Surviving are a son; Corey A. ( Brenda Brennan) Stefanczak of Walled Lake, MI, two daughters; Lisa (Jerry) Dahlbeck of Jamestown, NY, Kathy (Lucien) Landry of Dover, AK, three grandchildren; Nissa Snow, Jarret Dahlbeck, Ryan Landry, a great granddaughter; Bella Snow, two sisters; Karen (Larry Davidson) Hulings of Warren, PA, Shirley Ferraro of San Antonio, TX, her nieces and nephews; Brielle Reitz, Gregg Hulings, Michael Hulings, Emily Reitz, Zachary Hulings, as well as many extended family and friends. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed. Betty always said, " I've had a great life". A celebration of her life will be held from 1-5 pm Saturday, June 13, 2020, at her home, 4545 Baker St. Ext. Lakewood, NY, and we will keep her spirit in our hearts. Memorials may be made to the United Way of Southern Chautauqua County, 208 Pine St. Jamestown, NY 14701, or to the American Cancer Society.
