Obituary of Frank L. Mallare

Frank L. Mallare, 83, of Jamestown, died Thursday September 3, 2020. He was born September 14, 1936, in Jamestown, son of the late Frank T. and Catherine Pecora Mallare. A 1954 graduate of Southwestern Central School, he went on to receive degrees from Jamestown Community College, Kent State university and University of Wisconsin, Madison, School of Law. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Pillsbury, Madison and Sutro International Law Firm, San Francisco, CA. He earlier had worked for the University of Wisconsin Extension Division of the Law Department and as an Associate in Law at Columbia University in New York. Frank enjoyed cooking, cars, opera, gardening, tennis, basketball and most of all time spent with family. Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Joyce Sanders Mallare; two step sons Paul (Kristen) Catania of Huson, OH and Todd (Suzanne) Catania of Florence, AL; along with their children Thomas, Anne, Brennan and Quinn. He was especially close with his many cousins, including, Marge and Vincent Mallare of Jamestown, Dominic Mallare of Buffalo, Cathy Smith of Rochester, Tom Martin of Olean, Patrick Ricotta of Fayetteville, N.C., Josephine Weiss of Buffalo, Tony Truxal of Seattle, WA, and Vincent Racitano of Jamestown. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Florence Sather, and his brother, Vincent Mallare. A memorial mass will be celebrated at a later date.
