Obituary of Jo Ann Hoglund

Jo Ann Hoglund, 80, of Houston Avenue, died Tuesday January 19, 2021. She passed peacefully in her home with her loving family by her side after a 4-year battle with cancer. She was born August 10, 1940 in Newburgh NY to the late John and Anna Morse Hart. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for 20 years by Cummins Jamestown Engine Plant in quality control. Jo Ann's greatest joy was her family. She loved nothing more than having everyone together laughing and sharing stories while she baked and cooked in her big kitchen. She loved to travel with her senior group and attend Scottish Highland Festivals. Surviving is her husband Richard A. Hoglund, whom she married June 2, 1957; six children Richard Hoglund, Jr., of Jamestown, Christina Heath of Virginia, Kathleen Johnson of Rochester, NY, Carla Hall, Susan Engstrom and Jennifer (Mike) Graham all of Jamestown; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; a sister Dudy (Steve) Lord of Jamestown and a brother Michael (Cindy) Hart of Pennsylvania. Besides her parents and 2 older brothers she was preceded in death by an infant son Phillip Hoglund. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
