Obituary of Sandra A. Rhodes

Sandra A. Rhodes, 78, of Brookdale Assisted Living, Lakewood, formerly of Chadwick St., Jamestown, and Hadley Bay, passed away on Thursday, January 28 in UPMC Chautauqua. A lifelong area resident, she was born May 11, 1942 in Jamestown, the daughter of Stanley and Lillian Peterson Tordoff. She was a 1960 graduate of Jamestown High School and worked for several years processing payroll and billing for her husband's accounting firm, John L. Rhodes, CPA. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and as an animal lover very much loved all the dogs in her life. She deeply enjoyed attending and rooting for her grandson Zachary in his hockey and baseball games. She was a longtime member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and Jamestown Vikings where she always enjoyed playing a few "tickets" with her friends. Surviving her are her two sons Jeffrey K. Rhodes and spouse Amy of Jamestown, NY, and John G. Rhodes and spouse Heidi of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and her grandson Zachary Rhodes of Jamestown, NY. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John L. Rhodes, whom she married September 4, 1965 and who died September 11, 2003. A walk-through visitation will be held from 4-6 pm Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
