Obituary of Virginia P. Forsberg

Virginia P. Forsberg, 88, of Hamburg, NY, formerly of Jamestown and Ft. Myers, Fla., passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Autumn View Health Care Facility in Hamburg. She was born December 16, 1932 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late W. Fred and Alice Robinson. Virginia was a graduate of the former Celoron High School, followed by Bryant & Stratton College in Buffalo. For more than 20 years she was employed by the Chautauqua County Probation Department. She then retired to Ft. Myers, Fla. where she enjoyed the Florida weather and visits from her family. In earlier years, she attended Celoron United Methodist Church and belonged to the Vikings, Moose and the War Vets. More recently she attended Hamburg Methodist Church. Virginia was always an avid walker and liked collecting Oriental and Egyptian art and fixtures. She often spoke fondly of a two week trip to Egypt she enjoyed 25 years ago. Surviving are her son, Robert G. Forsberg, Jr. (Patricia), granddaughter, Stephanie Forsberg and great-granddaughter Adelynn Forsberg, all of Hamburg, NY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Douglas Forsberg; and her former husband, Robert G. Forsberg, Sr. who died November 17, 2020. A private service will be held. Visitation will not be observed. Inurnment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Frewsburg, NY. Memorials may be made to the Celoron United Methodist Church, 28 Livingston Ave., Celoron, NY 14720.
