Obituary of Lynda G. Younker

Lynda G. Younker, 79, of Manalapan, FL and Ashville, NY died Sunday June 13, 2021, in her home in Ashville. A native of Kendallville, IN, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Freida Kreischer Nelson. She was a summa cum laude graduate of Ursuline College with a degree in English Literature. An award-winning photographer, she was an avid golfer, voracious reader, red wine connoisseur and loved her beagles Marsha, Abbey and Poppy. Her sparkly personality rewarded her with many lifelong friends. Lynda loved spending time with her grandchildren and was passionate about her various philanthropic endeavors including Food For the Poor, Wounded Warriors, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Village of Hope, Inc (Village de l'Espoir, Haiti) and Tunnel to Towers. Surviving is her husband Marlin E. Younker, whom she married August 31, 1963; three children Gretchen (Gregg) Levy of Pepper Pike, OH, Jon (Linda) Younker of Kirtland Hills, OH and Allison (Jon) Hanson of Concord Township, OH; nine grandchildren Isabel and Ariel Cohen, Alyssa and Kendyl Levy, Nicholas Younker, Brittney and Emily Wainwright and Jack and Carly Hanson; sister Gail Nelson of Hollywood, FL and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three siblings Roxa Anderson, Pamela McLargin and Dane Nelson. Friends will be received from 11am-1pm Thursday at Lind Funeral Home, Jamestown, NY with funeral service immediately following.
