Obituary of Rose Marie Venable

Rose Marie Venable, 84, of Gerry, NY, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021 in her home. She was the wife of Johnie Venable, Sr., whom she married February 11, 1956. Rose Marie was born May 21, 1937 in Jamestown and was a daughter of the late Russell and Josephine Constantino Trunzo. For more than 30 years, she was employed as a librarian by the Jamestown Public Schools. She was then the owner of Venable Construction, Inc. Rose was a member of Holy Apostles Parish, Ss. Peter & Paul Church and belonged to the Vikings and Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. She also enjoyed playing cards and meals out with her high school reunion group. Rose loved to cook and sew. In addition to her husband, Johnie, surviving are two sons, Daniel and John Venable, both of Gerry; grandson, Johnie Venable III and great granddaughter, Rayna of Gerry; and a sister, Jean Carnes also of Gerry. Besides her parents, Rose was preceded in death by a daughter, Johneen Venable Berry who died December 14, 2019; as well as a brother, Nick Trunzo and a sister, Josephine "Babe" Trunzo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 20th at Holy Apostles Parish, Ss. Peter & Paul Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, P.O.
