Obituary of Deborah Ann Swanson

Deborah Ann Swanson, 72, of Jamestown, died Wednesday September 22, 2021, in the home of her son in Jamestown, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born March 12, 1949, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Paul G. and Elsie S. Gustafson Chall. She received her Licensed Practical Nursing certificate in 1983 and went on to become a registered nurse in 1988. She was employed by WCA Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit and later worked for The Resource Center. She was a member of Zion Covenant Church. She will be remembered for her skill as a seamstress. She sewed many wedding gowns, bridesmaid and prom dresses and christening attire. Along with sewing, she enjoyed quilting, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and dogs and going on cruises. She was a member of the Westfield Quilt Guild. Surviving is her husband Philip G. Swanson, whom she married October 1, 1966; three children Michael P. (Miranda) Swanson of Bemus Point, Jill E. (Jeffrey) Nordin of North Warren, PA, and Christopher P. (Lisa) Swanson of Jamestown; seven grandchildren Carleton (Abby Paquin) Swanson, Elise Swanson, Andrew Raymond, Bryce Raymond, Jake Swanson, Gage Swanson and Rachael Swanson; two great grandsons Caleb and Lucas Raymond; two brothers David (Barbara) Chall of Bemus Point and Philip Chall of Chagrin Falls, OH and a brother in law Daryl (Dinah) Swanson of Clearwater, FL. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Zion Covenant Church. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 3-6 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home.
