Obituary of Esther P. Seekings

Esther P. Seekings, 75, of Lakewood, passed away on Friday, Dec. 10, 2021 in UPMC Chautauqua. She was born on July 23, 1946 in Westfield, the daughter of the late Paul D. and Ruth M. King Gibbons. Esther was a 1963 graduate of Clymer Central School. She was a member of Family Church Mayville and the Red Hatters Society. For many years, she worked at Lutheran Social Services using her crocheting skills to make items for residents. She enjoyed crocheting, craft sales, camping, and being with family. Esther is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Gale W. Seekings, whom she married Nov. 4, 1967; three sons: Mike (Diane) Gibbons, Steve (Amy) Seekings, Doug (Eileen) Seekings; a daughter Tammy (Doug) Williams; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four brothers: Gerald Gibbons, Richard (Janet) Gibbons, Milton (Thelma) Gibbons, Larry Gibbons; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 17, 2021 at 11 am where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Jeff Mitchener will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Kiantone. Friends will also be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday in the funeral home. Per New York State mandates, masks must be worn while in the funeral home regardless of vaccination status. Memorials may be made to Family Church Mayville, 65 West Lake Rd., Mayville, NY 14757.
