Obituary of Kermit A. Swanson

Kermit A. Swanson, 67, of Jamestown, NY, passed away at 7:41 pm Monday, January 10, 2021, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. He was born July 15, 1954, in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Allan K. and Donna Parker Swanson. He was a 1972 graduate of Jamestown High School and before his retirement due to health concerns was employed by the Blackstone Corporation and the former Falconer Plate Glass Company. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed his time spent at the Jamestown Adult Day Care Center, where he was an activities assistant. He was also a volunteer for Chautauqua County Meals on Wheels and at Lutheran. From a young age Kermit loved everything about cars and car racing. He also enjoyed playing golf, rock music and having friends over to his home to shoot pool or relax on the deck. He had provided care to several elderly relatives, always with a smile or a joke to brighten up the day. Surviving is a daughter; Carolyn (Jesse) Kime of Lancaster, NY, a grandson; David Kime of Lancaster, NY, a sister; Christine S. (Samuel) Prinzi of Jamestown, and three nephews, Daniel (Kacy) Prinzi, Robert (Sarah) Prinzi and Thomas (Tara Fenton) Prinzi. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Chip Kime. The funeral will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, January 16, 2022, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Allport-Cohoon, pastor of the Bethel Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 1-3 pm Sunday, two hours prior to the service, in the funeral home where masks are required. Kermit's family would like to thank the staff at Lutheran for their compassionate care over the past few months.
