Obituary of Gail A. Boltz

Gail A. Boltz, 75, of Jamestown, NY, passed away at 8:22 am Sunday, January 23, 2022, in the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility, following a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 12, 1946, in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late Ralph and Ruth Platt Robinson. Gail was a graduate of Amherst High School, Amherst, NY and received her bachelor's and master's degree from the State University of New York at Fredonia. Before her retirement she was employed by the Scott Foresman Publishing Company, selling textbooks and ancillaries to many school districts. In previous years, she was a teacher at the Southwestern Central School, and the former Lakewood and Celoron Elementary School. Gail will be remembered as one who loved to travel, play cards with friends, spend time reading, doing crossword puzzles, tending to her flower garden, and loved keeping up on current events. Above all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving is her husband of 52 years, David A. Boltz, whom she married July 12, 1969, a son, Gregory (Amy) Boltz of Hamburg, NY, three grandchildren, Nicholas, Hannah and Allison Boltz, a sister-in-law, Beverly Boltz, and two nieces, Cheryl Boltz and Connie Tuller. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacey Boltz Palasek who died October 14, 2006. The Boltz family would like to thank Maria Mantilla and Chuck and Cathy Strand for their care and concern for Gail and the Boltz Family over the past six months. The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home where a prayer service will be led at 7 pm Thursday by Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd. Jamestown, NY 14701.
