Obituary of Deborah L. Beebe

Deborah L. Beebe, of Lakewood, NY, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022, peacefully in her home. Debbie was born March 5, 1954, in Philadelphia, PA, the eldest child of the late Richard and Arta Blake. She grew up in Lakewood NY, graduating from Southwestern High School and later attending Jamestown Business College. Debbie was an extremely hard worker, often squeezing in a second job to help supplement the cost of her children's extracurricular activities. She worked in bookkeeping her entire professional career at Yaw Oil and Paramount Roofing, retiring from Paramount in 2019. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Lakewood American Legion Post 1286. After retirement she picked up bingo as a hobby and would join friends a couple of times a week to play. She also loved spending time outdoors on a sunny day, reading a book or doing her crossword puzzles. Debbie will best be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She was actively involved in all aspects of her children's lives, never missing an activity or sporting event. Through this active involvement, she developed a motherly relationship with many of her children's close friends, often being called "mom" by many of them. After her children had all grown up and had children of their own, she actively involved herself in the lives of her grandchildren. Often watching after them and caring for them as she did her own children. She loved having her grandkids spend the night with "granny" and cherished every moment she had with them. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Jessica May Beebe. She is survived by three children: Chris (Meghan) Beebe, Adam (Jessica) Beebe, Justin Beebe (Melissa Sandberg); nine grandchildren: Rose Beebe, Magnolia Beebe, Reed Beebe, Drew Beebe, Grayson Beebe, Emilia Beebe, Caiden Beebe, Alivia Shilling, and Gracelynn Shilling; and five siblings: Robin Widrig, Nancy O'Neill, Steve (Jane) Blake, Tim (Jan) Blake, and Mike Blake. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A time for remembrance will be held Thursday April 28, 2022, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Lakewood American Legion Post 1286. A celebration of life will be held a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Debbie's honor to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701.
