Obituary of Beverly J. Hayes

Beverly J. Hayes, 89, formerly of the Hotel Jamestown passed away at 10:30 pm Thursday, September 15, 2022, in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident, she was born May 6, 1933, in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Clifford and Doris Boswell Shelters. Beverly was a 1951 graduate of Randolph Central School. Before her retirement she had worked for the former Jamestown Mutual Insurance Company and the former Bigelow's Department Store. She had been a member of the First Covenant Church since 1982, where she sang in the church choir for several years. In previous years she had been a member of the Calvary Baptist Church for 14 years and the Randolph Baptist Church for 20 years. Surviving is a son, Sidney (Kimberly Amico-Hayes) Hayes of Surfside Beach, SC, two grandchildren, Christopher Hayes, Kimberly Bremiller both of SC, three great grandchildren, Brooke Bremiller of Cheektowaga, NY, Caitlyn and Kyla Hayes of Glendale, AZ, and a great great grandson, Jace Bulious of Cheektowaga, NY The funeral will be held at 11 am Wednesday, September 28, 2022, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Adam Rohler, pastor of the First Covenant Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Foster Cemetery, Lander, PA. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday in the funeral home.
