Obituary of Lynn M. Walsh

Lynn M. Walsh, 72, formerly of Maple Springs NY, passed away of natural causes in October 2022 in Arizona, where she resided for nearly 45 years. Lynn was born October 9, 1950 in St. Cloud MN, daughter of the late Frank L. and Margaret Hackman Walsh. She was also a granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend. A 1968 graduate of Maple Grove Jr. Sr. High School in Bemus Point NY, in 1970 she graduated from the Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston MA. Throughout the years, Lynn enjoyed a diverse career. She worked in Boston, locally at several establishments and spent one winter living and working in the Florida Keys. She later moved to Arizona where she worked in several areas, including serving as an administrative assistant and lastly as an airline reservationist before her retirement. A talented artist, she enjoyed photography, learning, music, movies, TV, reading about health, cooking, traveling and studying gems & minerals. Those who knew her well appreciated her candor and impeccable taste and style. An independent, free-spirited, private person, she had a distinctive flair for life and a memorable sense of humor, which quickly drew people to her. Surviving are her sister, Karen Walsh of Bemus Point; her uncle, Henry (Sharla) Hackman Jr. of Minnesota; several cousins living in Minnesota, Maryland, Idaho, Colorado and Florida, and a number of treasured friends across the country. Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, her godparents Angela & Francis Gregory, Irene Walsh, Joan Hackman Groskreutz, numerous aunts & uncles, several cousins, a few close friends and her two beloved dogs, Chi Chi & Bear. Lynn is and will be truly missed; those of us who knew her will always hold her in a special place in our hearts. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10th, 2023 in St. Mary of Lourdes Parish, Bemus Point. The Rev. David Tourville will be celebrant. Interment will be in Bemus Point Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed. Donations in Lynn's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
