Obituary of Delores R. Rosdahl

Delores R. "Dee" Rosdahl, 92, formerly of Westminster Drive, Jamestown, NY, passed away at 2:20 am Sunday, January 8, 2023, in the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident, she was born June 10, 1930, in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Elton and Ruth Astrid Warner Olson. Dee was a 1948 graduate of Jamestown High School. Before her retirement in 1992, she and her late husband Gene owned and operated the former Grapevine Restaurant in Jamestown for 35 years. They hosted many holiday buffets each year and gained many lifelong friends from all of their gatherings. In earlier yeas she had worked for the Sprinchorn Company in Jamestown. Delores and Gene enjoyed wintering in Sanibel Island, FL and North Fort Myers, FL for more than ten years prior to Gene's passing in 2012. She was a member of the Diana Lodge of the Ingjald Lodge 65, Independent Order of the Vikings, and the Thule Lodge 127 VASA Order of America. She will be remembered for her love of cooking, her beautiful flower gardens, and her meticulous landscaping. Surviving relatives include, Steven Osterstrom of Buffalo, NY, Kevin (Susan) Osterstrom of SC, Christine Johnson of Parrish, FL, who were especially close to her and Romaine Gustafson, Paula Olson, both of Jamestown, NY, William Osterstrom of DE, Richard (Alice) Johnson of Lakewood, NY, and 17 other nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene E. Rosdahl whom she married March 27, 1951, and who died November 30, 2012, three brothers, Elton, Kenneth, Wallace Olson and a sister, Joyce Osterstrom. As per Delores's wishes, there will be no services or visitation observed. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery Tranquility Columbarium.
