Obituary of Bruce R. Brown

Bruce R. Brown, 73, of Panama, NY, died February 3, 2023, at UPMC Chautauqua following a brief illness. Bruce was born October 11, 1949, in Jamestown NY, a son of the late Ramon C. and Helen Hedberg Brown. He was a 1967 graduate of Bemus Point Central School. Following high school, he served several years in the Army Reserve. Before his retirement he was employed at the Beneficial Finance Company, Jamestown General Hospital, City of Jamestown and most recently he was the Risk Manager at the Resource Center. Following his retirement, he volunteered his time as a member of the Financial Advisory Committee at the Resource Center and was a trustee for the Harmony Historical Society. Bruce will be remembered for his deep voice and his sense of humor. He enjoyed walking in the woods with his canine friends and cutting firewood. Surviving is his wife, Dianne Freay Georgic Brown, whom he married April 20, 2000; two stepchildren: Tim Georgic and Kristen (Tom) Minarovich; two grandchildren: Cameron Minarovich and Carissa Minarovich; two brothers Philip (Deborah) Brown and Alan (Janet Forbes) Brown and several nieces and nephews. He never had children of his own, but his stepchildren and grandchildren added so much to his life and he loved them very much. Per Bruce's wishes no visitation or service will be held at this time. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. The family requests donations in memory of Bruce be made to the Panama Volunteer Fire Department, the Harmony Historical Society, or the animal shelter of your choice.
