Obituary of Ellis F. Delahoy

Ellis F. Delahoy, 75, of 140 Jones Street, Lakewood, died Friday March 10, 2023, in his home. He was born June 25, 1947, in Jamestown, a son of the late Frank and June Hadley Delahoy. He was a member of the Pine Valley Class of 1965 and was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during the Vietnam War and honorably discharged in 1970. Prior to his retirement in 2009, he was employed by Cummins Jamestown Engine Plant for 28 years and never took a sick day. He earlier had worked for Hopes Architectural Products from 1968-81. He was a member of North harmony United Methodist Church, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, Lakewood Memorial Post 1286 American Legion and Lakewood Busti Golden Agers. He was a former member of Ellington Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting fishing and bowling. Surviving is his wife Marilyn Pangborn Delahoy, whom he married October 26, 1973; two children David (Renee) Delahoy and Alice (Bryan) Bigelow both of Jamestown; three grandchildren Davey (Marcinda) Delahoy, Hanna Bigelow, and Matthew Bigelow; great grandson Logan Delahoy; siblings Brian (Jennifer) Delahoy, Russell (Lori) Delahoy, Kim (Karen) Delahoy, Darryll (Patti) Delahoy and Barbara Delahoy; sister in law Marylee (Gil) Beardsly; brother in law Allan (Rachel) Pangborn and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Patrick and Keith Delahoy. The funeral will be held at 10 am Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Friends will be received from 4-7 pm Tuesday in the funeral home.
