Obituary of Alice Ludwiczak

Alice Ludwiczak, 86, of Jamestown, NY, passed away on Thursday May 9, 2023, in the Star Hospice House in Lakewood, NY surrounded by her family. A lifelong Jamestown area resident, she was born July 2, 1936, in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Pilat Ludwiczak. Alice was a 1954 graduate of Jamestown High School. She was a communicant of Holy Apostle Parish and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Before her retirement, Alice was employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Jamestown as an administrative assistant for 30 years. Alice loved going to lunch with the ladies of Blue Cross and enjoyed taking care of her home whom she shared with her sister. Surviving are her two siblings: John W. Ludwiczak and Dorothy Ludwiczak; eight nieces and nephews: Kathy Burns, JoAnn Bardo, Jeff Ludwiczak, Craig Ludwiczak. Mark Ludwiczak, Linda Sena, Rosemary Schweitzer, Nancy Tully, ten great nieces and nephews, and five great-great nieces and nephews who are blessed and grateful to call her Aunt. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Helen Ludwiczak and Mary Skrypek, and her two brothers: Edward Ludwiczak and Raymond Ludwiczak. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday in Holy Apostles Parish at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 11-12:30 pm Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care, 20 west Fairmount Ave. Lakewood, NY, 14750 and Holy Apostles Parish, 508 Cherry St, Jamestown, NY 14701.
