Obituary of Patricia H. Haynes

Patricia Hadley Haynes, 103, died Friday December 8, 2023, in Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing. Pat was born July 5, 1920, in Concord, MI, a daughter of the late Fredrick and Vera Brewer Hadley. She grew up in Ann Arbor, MI, where she graduated from the University of Michigan. After graduation she and her sister Josephine moved to New York City for a business career. The city is where she met John "Jack" Haynes and they were married in Greenwich Village. Jack did not want to raise a family in NYC so after they were born the family relocated to Northeastern, PA, then Elkhart, IN and finally Ashville, NY. Jack worked for the government and Pat sold real estate. After retirement Pat was a volunteer helping senior citizens figure out medical insurance and bills. Pat was a loving and devoted grandmother. Education was of utmost importance to her. She was instrumental in visiting and checking out colleges with her grandchildren. Surviving are her daughter Josephine (Dan) Maring; grandsons Joshua (Charlene) and Clayton (Dora) Maring; granddaughters Jamie (Ben) Hedman and Jessica Haynes; eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Josephine Knapp; niece Jamie Willet; a great grandson and most importantly her husband John and son Spencer Haynes. The funeral will be held at 11 am Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Todd Wentworth will officiate. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Thursday in the funeral home.
