Obituary of Lois R. Williams

Lois R Williams, 93, of Greenhurt, passed away peacefully Saturday December 16, 2023, at Heritage Green Skilled Nursing surrounded by her family. She was born December 28, 1929, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Arthur and Margarite Stone Ackroyd. Lois was such a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She loved living on Chautauqua Lake, always boating, fishing, and ice-skating. Her door was always open to visit her in the home she had been living in for over 91 years. Lois enjoyed cooking, quilting, feeding the birds, was an avid reader and loved watching her TV show The Young and the Restless. Surviving are her two daughters Debbie (Steve) Darling of Jamestown, Lisa (Tony Dejoseph) Williams of Greenhurst; daughter-in-law Gayle Williams; nine grandchildren: Mike Darling, Tara (Frank) Darling-Jagoda, Carrie (David) Garrett, Brett Williams, Blake (Angela) Williams, Ryan (Anna) McIntyre, Mark Williams, Ronald Williams, Matt Williams and 10 great grandchildren. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Marshall Williams whom she married March 17, 1947, and who died May 25, 1979; daughter Wanda Williams in 1990; two sons Steve Williams in 2011, Bruce Williams in 2022 and her brother Davis Ackroyd. In keeping with Lois's wishes no funeral service or visitation will be observed. A memorial service will be held at the family's convenience.
