Obituary of Kennie Lyle Campbell

Kennie Lyle Campbell, 71, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully under the care of Hospice on Sunday December 17, 2023, in his home with his family by his side after declining health for over a year. He was born July 29, 1952, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, a son of the late Calvin "Ike" and MaryAlice Boom Campbell. On August 19, 1978, Kennie married Suzanne Smith and were able to have 45 years together. He was proud of his family, especially his adopted children and cherished the times they had together. Kennie was well known for wearing his tie dye t-shirts and ruler suspenders with two-dollar bills in his front pocket to give as tips at restaurants in memory of his late brother Bennie. He would often help his sister Carrie at her bookstore with Tunie accompanying him. Surviving is his wife Suzanne Smith Campbell of Jamestown; two children Christina (Todd) Lawson of Sinclairville, NY, Kennie Caryl (Natasha) Campbell of Lakewood, NY; proud grandfather to Calvin David Campbell, Alexander Jones, and Natalie Nelson; his siblings CarolLou Eisenhardt of Jamestown, Carrie Wolfgang of Jamestown and several nieces and nephews. Kennie also opened his home and heart to his dog, Tunie who became his driving companion. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Bennie E. Campbell in 2019. In keeping with Kennie's wishes no funeral service or visitation will be observed. A memorial service will be held at the family's convenience. Inurnment will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
