Obituary of Bruce D. James

Bruce D. James, 65, of 2250 James Avenue, Ashville, died Wednesday December 27, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born November 10, 1958, in Jamestown, a son of Donald and Marilyn "Peachie" Clark James. He was a 1976 graduate of Panama Central School. He was associated with Tri-James for most of his adult years and most recently worked for Alexander Construction as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed his winters in Florida, but more than anything he enjoyed flying his plane and spending time with his grandkids and family. Surviving is his mother of Ashville; four daughters Kristin James of Lakewood, Korrin (Chris) Fairbank of Ashville, Karlee (Brian) Smith of Ashville and Kendall (Steven) Stills of Jamestown; nine grandchildren Clayton, Carson, Karagan and Kortlyn Fairbank, Giana Mays, Braeya and Grant Smith and Harlow and Hudson Stills; siblings Brian (Rhonda) James of Ashville and Diane (Kevin) Sturzenbecker of Ashville; his girlfriend Patty Phillips and former wife, friend and mother to his children Tammy James. He was preceded in death by his father. The funeral will be held at 6 pm Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home where friends will be received from 4-6 pm Wednesday.
