Obituary of Sally A. Haley

Sally A. Haley, 85, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday January 7, 2024, at UPMC Chautauqua. She was born October 30, 1938, in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy Rivers Crick. Sally was a 1956 graduate of Southwestern High School. Before her retirement she worked at the post Journal for 22 years. She was an avid bingo player and if you knew Sally, you didn't bother her while she was watching her soap operas. Surviving are her five children: Amy (Jamie) Tonkin, Charles Haley, Dawn (Tim) Snyder, Kim Gray, Dorean Monchilovich; 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, and 2 adopted daughters Perscilla and Tina Marie. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick "Fred" Haley, whom she married October 31, 1970, and who died July 29, 2017; three grandchildren, one great grandchild, and son in law Tony Gray. A private graveside service will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received by the family from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2024, in the Lind Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family or funeral home to help defer expenses.
