Obituary of Sarah A. Pellerino

Sarah A. Pellerino, 84, formerly of 13 Dearing Avenue, died Wednesday January 18, 2024, in UPMC Chautauqua. She was born June 17, 1939, in Carnegie, PA, a daughter of the late Charles and Pearl Riggi Giomento. She was a 1957 graduate of Jamestown high School. Prior to her retirement she was employed by Jamestown Community College in food service for many years. She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish, SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Crafting, reading, cooking, and working puzzles gave her joy, but more than anything she loved time spent with family. Surviving are two children Victoria (Angelo) Volpe of Jamestown and Perry (Anne Marie) Pellerino of Rochester; two granddaughters Gina and Genna Pellerino both of Rochester, sister in law Grace Peatman of Jamestown and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Agostino "Gus" Pellerino, whom she married April 25, 1964, and who died August 26, 2016, and several brothers and sisters including Anthony Giomento and Carmella Conti to whom she was especially close. The funeral will be held at 12:30 pm Monday in the Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Monday in the funeral home.
