Obituary of Susan E. Harris

Susan E. Harris, 79, formerly of West Ellicott and Bemus Point, died Monday March 11, 2024, in Gowanda Rehab and Nursing Center. Sue was born September 1, 1944, in Jamestown, a daughter of Raymond and Helen "Liz" Foote Stewart. She was a 1962 graduate of Jamestown High School. Prior to her move to Gowanda she was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Surviving is a daughter Stacey (Arthur) Weinstein of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren Ashley and Tyler Weinstein of Charlotte and Judson and Oscar Harris both of Jamestown and nieces and nephews Dorothy Carlson, Richard Allberg, Patrick Harris, and Michael Harris all of Jamestown and Wendy Link of Michigan and Shawn Harris of Massachusetts. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Harris, Jr, whom she married October 3, 1964, and who died February 26, 2011; a son Thomas Harris October 1, 2018, and a sister Barbara Lopriore March 20, 1997. Susan was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Chautauqua Lake, playing bingo, traveling with her husband, and visiting her four precious grandchildren. Sue and her husband were active members at Conewango Valley Country Club, Celoron Moose and Celoron Legion. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
